#1 Senate District 25

An exciting battle between incumbent Republican Jeff Wentworth and Elizabeth Ames Jones and Donna Campbell. Jones and Campbell are well funded.

#2 Senate District 9

GOP legislator Chris Harris is stepping down. Republicans Kelly Hancock and Todd Smith vying for the seat.

#3 Senate District 30

Incumbent Republican Craig Estes seeks re-election against Jim Herblin, a touch opponent and also a Republican. This rate is already getting intense.

#4 Senate District 11

Republican Mike Jackson has decided to run for Congress, which leaves an empty seat. Currently there is a tight race between three hopefuls – Daniel McCool, Larry Taylor, and Dave Norman – all Republicans.

Former Republican senator Mike Galloway initiates a primary fight with Tommy Williams, incumbent from the Woodlands.

Robert Nichols (Incumbent Republican) has his hands full with Tea Party leader from East Texas, Tammy Blair.

#7 Senate District 5

Steve Ogden, arguably the most powerful state senator in Texas is ending his career in the Senate, opening a seat being contested by Republicans Charles Schwertner and Bend Bius.

#8 Senate District 31

Randy Rives is accusing GOP incumbent Kel Selinger of not being a true conservative in this hotly contested race.
