Texas Government 83rd Legislative Session Update: HB 50

Recently filed House Bill No. 50 is attempting to make a law to fly the State of Texas and United States flags at half mast in the event of a resident military member’s death who is killed in action. The bill was introduced on February 4th of 2013. If it does not receive the votes necessary to take immediate effect, it will take effect on September 1st of 2013. It proposes that the flag will fly at half mast for one day, the day after the member’s family is informed of the death.
