Texas Government Lobby News: Gov. Perry Announcement Released
On July 3rd of 2013, Governor Rick Perry announced a Chevron company expansion at their facility in Houston. The state provided 12,000,000 dollars through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to finalize the deal on this expansion. This will create an estimated 1,752 jobs. Chevron’s headquarters are in California. Like many other large companies, they are choosing to expand in Texas. Texas boasts low business taxes and regulation, allowing plenty of room for company growth. This makes the state a very attractive option for businesses to invest in.
“The Texas model is a blueprint for job creation, and the investment Chevron is making in Houston with more than 1,700 high-paying jobs opens the door to significant opportunities for Texans and their families.” Chevron will be constructing a 1.7 million square foot facility in Houston. TEF’s sponsoring this project will be of great help to the state’s economy. More business and more jobs builds will greatly improve upon the current economic state.
