Texas Government Lobby News: Governor Perry Announces TEF Investment
On November 1st, Governor Rick Perry announced a one million dollar Texas Enterprise Fund investment. The TEF has decided to invest in Oracle, who is expanding operations to Austin. Oracle will be opening a new office and creating over 200 new jobs. The company provides people with hardware and software to aid in company business needs. The Texas Enterprise Fund was created in 2003 by the state legislature, and has been directing funding for new businesses/business openings ever since. It is present to help the economy grow.
“We are expanding our presence in Texas because we’ve been impressed with the quality workforce and growth opportunities here,” said Oracle Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities Randy Smith. “With this new investment we will be better equipped to meet customer demand while bringing new technology jobs to the state of Texas.”
