Texas Government Lobby News: Rick Perry Signs SB 24
The University of Texas has recently announced the opening of their new location in Brownsville. Governor Rick Perry signed Senate Bill No. 24 on location on July 16th 2013. “This new university will be a beacon of opportunity, innovation and potential in the Valley, telling the story of the ongoing promise of the 21st Century and the growing role South Texas will play in our future.” Senate Bill No. 24 will be building upon the current healthcare system and creating jobs by opening a new medical school and university. This will provide an excellent opportunity for the residents of Brownsville, and other nearby locations. The University of Texas already has campuses in Austin, Arlington, Dallas, El Paso, Tyler, and San Antonio.
