Texas Government News: Greg Abbott on Merging of US Airways and American

Attorney General Greg Abbott recently published an article on August 13th of 2013 in the Dallas Morning News. General Abbott has voiced his complaints against the state filing a legal action against the merging of US Airways and American Airways. He has stated the he, and many others, believe that this is a direct violation of antitrust laws. FDR must be turning in his grave. The goal for these organizations is to be able to raise prices by eliminating the competition. This undermines the free market, by only giving people one valid choice. Free marketplaces work best with steady competition, forcing big business to work to serve the customer.
