Michael Toomey served three terms in the Texas house. He was chief of staff for two governors – the only person in Texas history to do that – serving with William Clements and Rick Perry. Bill Messer was named in the top ten legislators by Texas Monthly when he was an elected official. At that time he also served as House Calendars Chairman. Lara Keel worked previously for the largest state business group – The Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce (TABCC).
